"I think President Trump has given Putin more than he deserves. Because Putin was happy. At a time when Russia was facing international isolation, meeting with President Trump was a dream for him, and he achieved it. I think Putin just needed the appearance of a joint meeting with Trump. Putin had no intention of a trilateral meeting," Zelenskyy noted.
The Ukrainian leader answered the journalist's question, "Do you think President Trump wants Ukraine to win?" "Yes."
"I think Trump has realized that Putin will not bring him success. American society does not trust, does not respect Putin, and thinks that he does not want to end the war. And the support of society is important for President Trump," the Ukrainian President said.
