Zelenskyy says progress made on US peace plan, but territorial issues remain the toughest

As a result of negotiations between Ukrainian officials and the Americans, the peace plan now looks better. The most difficult issue remains territory, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said during a press conference with French President Emmanuel Macron, APA reports citing RBC Ukraine.

"The territorial question is the most difficult. The issues of money and reconstruction are difficult to resolve without the presence of European partners. And security guarantees require specific commitments from the US and Europe. We must be very cautious here, but the plan looks better," the Ukrainian President said.

He added that Ukraine and the United States spent 6.5 hours discussing territorial issues "only on specific points."

According to Zelenskyy, talks with Washington are ongoing. The US has already shared its vision with Ukrainian officials and now wants to discuss the same topic with Moscow.

"I will get feedback from our delegation tomorrow. They will arrive in Ireland and brief me step by step on where we stand in these negotiations," he clarified.
