There is now a "significant chance" of ending the war, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated in an evening video address, APA reports quoting UNIAN.
He announced a series of meetings with the American side and European partners in the coming days. Specifically, he said, the talks will include National Security and Defense Council Secretary Rustem Umerov, Chief of the General Staff Andriy Gnatov, and representatives of other security agencies. Zelenskyy himself plans to meet with representatives of Trump's team, Europeans, and representatives of other countries to discuss the terms of ending the war.
"There's a significant opportunity now. And this is important for every city, for every Ukrainian community. We're working to ensure that peace is worthy of Ukraine and that there's a guarantee—a guarantee, first and foremost, that Russia won't return to Ukraine with a third invasion," Zelenskyy said.
The president also commented on Russia's attack on a Turkish civilian vessel carrying Ukrainian oil today.
"Attacks on ships that have nothing to do with the war are a direct challenge to Russia's entire world. We will work with our partners to determine how to respond to this. There will be a response," he said.
