Ukraine plans to start producing 500-800 drones per day and strengthen its combat aircraft fleet with 250 new combat aircraft, said Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky at a briefing, APA reports, citing UNIAN.
"The country plans to sign all the main contracts by the end of the year and start producing 500-800 drones per day," the head of state noted.
Zelensky also announced his intention to strengthen Ukraine's combat aircraft fleet with 250 new combat aircraft. The President noted that negotiations are underway on the supply of F-16, Rafale and Gripen aircraft to the United States, Sweden and France.
The President particularly considered the Swedish Gripen aircraft a priority. According to him, these aircraft are the most profitable in terms of service and technical aspects and are suitable for rapid integration into existing Western weapons systems.
Zelensky added that Ukraine has already reached an agreement with Sweden to sign a contract to localize the production of 150 new fully armed aircraft in the country.
