UN reports surge in civilian casualties in Ukraine, with 548 killed in nine months

During the first 9 months of the current year, 548 civilians were killed in Ukraine as a result of Russian attacks, Freedom reported, citing data from the UN Human Rights Monitoring Mission in Ukraine, APA reports.

According to the information, from January to September, a total of 4,140 people were affected by Russian attacks. Of them, 548 were killed, and 3,592 were injured.

The number of civilian deaths has increased by 26% compared to the same period in 2024, while the number of injured has risen by 75%.

It was noted that in Kyiv alone, the number of fatalities recorded since the beginning of the year is nearly four times higher than the total figure for all of 2024. Similar trends are observed in the cities of Dnipro and Zaporizhzhia.
