Ukraine intends to order 27 US-made Patriot air defense systems, said Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in an interview with the Guardian, APA reports.
According to him, in recent weeks, Russia has repeatedly attacked Ukraine's energy infrastructure, which has led to frequent power outages: "We live in such conditions. This is already a normal thing for us. Sometimes the lights go out in Kyiv and in other places."
According to Zelensky, Ukraine is closely cooperating with international partners to protect itself from attacks by unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) sent by Russia at night.
He also said that in addition to purchasing 27 Patriot systems from the United States, European countries may also consider providing Ukraine with their existing Patriot systems.
