On Monday, September 29, Ukrainian forces destroyed a Russian Mi-28 helicopter using an FPV dron, APA reports, citing ESPRESO.
The commander of Ukraine’s Unmanned Systems Forces, Robert "Madyar" Brovdi, and the brigade’s press service, reported the information.
The military said the Russian helicopter was shot down by an FPV drone in the area of Kotlyarivka (likely in the Pokrovsk district of Donetsk region).
“The result is the work of our intelligence and our people. Whoever comes here ‘to take a look’ should be ready,” the brigade warned.
Madyar also released a video showing pilots from the 59th Brigade of Unmanned Systems Forces targeting and downing the Russian aircraft with an FPV drone.
Initially, the downed helicopter was identified as a Mi-28, valued at no less than $15 million. However, later clarification from Ukrainian volunteer Serhiy Sternenko suggested the aircraft may have been a Mi-8 instead.
