Ukraine destroys one of "Oreshnik" complexes on Russian territory-UPDATED

The head of the Security Service of Ukraine, Vasily Malyuk, has revealed the details of the destruction of one of the Oreshnik complexes, APA reports, citing UNIAN.

Malyuk called it a successful operation.

"We have never voiced this before. However, we can say that one of the three Oreshniks was successfully destroyed in Kapustin Yar. This was a very successful mission. The destruction of Oreshnik was one hundred percent. This was a very successful operation, only the President of Ukraine was informed about it, and several presidents of other countries also knew about it. This was a moment when no one used the name Oreshnik in the general public. And at that time, the Russians did not threaten with it. If I am not mistaken, it was the summer before last," Malyuk said.

President Zelensky noted that, according to Ukrainian intelligence, Russia had three opportunities to fire Oreshnik. One of them was used, and the other was destroyed by the Ukrainian defense forces.

At the same time, Zelensky noted that the Russian Federation plans to deploy the Oreshnik on the territory of Belarus. According to him, this should be brought to the attention of Western partners:

"We understand that their approximate radius of action is 5,500 kilometers. And there is a 700-kilometer dead zone. So, Europeans, especially Eastern Europe, and everyone should pay attention to this. We need to be aware of these risks."
