The Turkish Interior Ministry has confirmed that the UAV that fell in the Kocaeli province was a Russian-origin reconnaissance and surveillance UAV, APA's Türkiye bureau reports.
The Ministry said in a statement that investigations are ongoing:
"Today, within the borders of the Çubuklubala neighborhood of the İzmit district of Kocaeli province, according to initial findings, an Orlan-10 type Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) of Russian origin, used for reconnaissance and surveillance purposes, was discovered. The investigation into the matter is ongoing," the statement said.

An unmanned aerial vehicle has crashed in the city of İzmit in Türkiye’s Kocaeli province, APA’s Türkiye bureau reports.
Personnel from the relevant services have been dispatched to the scene.
