The Turkish Ministry of National Defense issued a statement regarding the drone (UAV) neutralized in the sky of Ankara on December 15, APA's Türkiye Bureau reports.
According to the ministry, the UAV entered the country's airspace from the Black Sea.
The UAV, which advanced to Ankara, was immediately neutralized by F-16 fighters.
The Defense Ministry emphasized that a warning was issued to Russia and Ukraine in this regard.
Türkiye’s Ministry of National Defense has also responded to claims alleging weaknesses in the country’s air defense systems.
“The claims that our air defense system is weak do not reflect the truth. Moreover, in the context of the ongoing war between Ukraine and Russia, the relevant parties have been warned to exercise greater caution regarding such negative incidents that could threaten security in the Black Sea,” the statement said.
