South Korean Ambassador to Tbilisi Hyondu Kim has been invited to the Georgian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA), APA's local bureau reports, citing the MFA.
During the meeting between Deputy Foreign Minister Aleksandre Khvtisiashvili and the ambassador, the visit of the Abkhazian "Minister of Culture" to the Korean Parliament and the opening of the "Abkhazian Cultural Center" in Seoul were discussed.
The ambassador expressed regret over the events and stressed that South Korea's position on the territorial integrity of Georgia remains unchanged. According to him, South Korea does not recognize Abkhazia as an independent state, but considers it an integral part of Georgia.
Regarding the opening of a cultural center in Seoul, the ambassador said that the South Korean government has not issued any permission for the opening or operation of such a center; therefore, it is impossible for it to operate according to local legislation.
Note that the "Abkhazian-Korean Cultural Center" was opened in Seoul on September 23. The ceremony, which took place in the South Korean parliament, was also attended by Abkhazia's "Minister of Culture" Daur Kove.
