Slovakia has said it will block the restrictions the European Union plans to impose during the discussions on the new 19th package of sanctions against Russia, APA reports, citing RBC-Ukraine.
According to the report, the ambassadors of the European Union member states held the first discussion on the sanctions package today. However, Slovakia immediately announced that it would block this package.
"There will probably be no green light before the summits in Copenhagen next week. Slovakia is blocking it for now," Jozvyak said.
Note that the European Commission submitted the 19th package of sanctions against Russia for discussion by the European Union member states on September 19. The package also provides for the suspension of gas imports from Russia until January 1, 2027.
