The revenues of the 100 largest arms manufacturers reached a record high of $679 billion last year, an increase of 5.9% compared to 2023, says the latest report on the global arms trade by the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (SIPRI), APA eeports.

The report said that the total revenues of the 100 largest arms manufacturers have increased sharply, amid countries' desire to expand and rapidly modernize their arsenals.

Global arms sales revenues increased sharply in 2024, driven by growing demand due to military conflicts in Ukraine and Gaza, global and regional geopolitical tensions, and steadily rising military spending.

For the first time since 2018, all five of the largest arms companies have increased their revenues from the sale of their products.

While European and American companies accounted for the bulk of the growth, annual growth was observed in all regions represented in the world's top 100.
