The Russian Armed Forces have taken control of the city of Kupyansk in the Kharkiv region of Ukraine, Chief of the General Staff of the Russian Army Valery Gerasimov reported to Vladimir Putin, APA's Moscow bureau reports.
It should be noted that Kupyansk is located in the Kharkiv region, on the banks of the Oskol River, 110 kilometers from the Kharkov highway. The city is considered one of the main pillars of Ukraine's defense in this section of the front.
Gerasimov said that the troops of the combined groups in the special operation zone are advancing in almost all directions.
He said that 70% of Krasnoarmeysk (Pokrovsk-Ukraine-ed.) and more than 80% of Volchansk have been taken control, troops are advancing in Seversk, and fighting continues in the Zaporozhye direction for Primorskoye and Stepnogorskoye.
