The prison staff at Vught Prison in North Brabant, who were taken hostage by an inmate on Friday, have been released. All prison employees are safe, Roxana Beisman, spokesperson for the Kingdom's Prison Service, told TAS, APA reports.
"The operation to free the hostages at the Vught prison has been completed. All prison staff are safe and have received assistance. An investigation will be conducted into the incident," she said. According to the agency's source, the hostages in the prison hospital's psychiatric ward were held by an inmate who is "under the control of law enforcement."
