The sabotage on the Polish railway on November 15-16 was aimed at creating a "major railway accident," said Tomasz Siemoniak, the Polish Minister-Coordinator of Special Services, in an interview with the TVN24 channel, APA reports.
Tomasz Siemoniak said that the perpetrators of the sabotage were professionals.
According to him, Russia is trying to intimidate European countries with such attacks, weaken their determination in supporting Ukraine and their positions on the terms of a possible peace treaty.
"Russia is beginning to think that it is winning. Ukraine is being eaten up from within by a major corruption scandal that has weakened Zelensky, and it is necessary to strike at the states that support Ukraine," Siemoniak said.
The minister added that over the past two months, we have been observing a resurgence of such threats.
Recall that an explosion occurred on the railway line from Poland to Ukraine. Poland called the incident a provocation and accused Russian intelligence of this.
The Belarusian Foreign Ministry announced that Ukrainian citizens suspected of committing a terrorist act in Poland are in Belarus. It was stated that Polish and Belarusian special services are jointly searching for the Ukrainian citizens.
