The award ceremony for the 2025 Nobel Peace Prize took place, APA reports.
The ceremony was held at Oslo City Hall, the capital of Norway.
As this year’s laureate — Venezuelan politician, opposition leader, and human rights activist Maria Corina Machado — did not attend the ceremony, the prize was presented to her daughter, Ana Corina Machado.
Note that on October 10, the Norwegian Nobel Committee decided to award the Nobel Peace Prize to María Corina Machado.

The Nobel Institute awarded the Venezuelan opposition leader the prize for "her struggle to achieve a just and peaceful transition from dictatorship to democracy" in her home country.

She is the founder and leader of the opposition movement “Vente Venezuela.” In 2014, she was stripped of her parliamentary mandate for participating in protests against President Nicolás Maduro’s government. Internationally, she is recognized as a symbol of the struggle for democracy and human rights.
Which organization received the 2024 Nobel Peace Prize?
The Norwegian Nobel Committee decided to award the 2024 Nobel Peace Prize to Japan’s Nihon Hidankyo organization.
