The Netherlands will allocate 90 million euros to Ukraine for the production of reconnaissance and strike drones, said Dutch Defense Minister Ruben Brekelmans during a meeting of NATO defense ministers in Brussels, APA reports.
The minister emphasized that support for Ukraine is now more important than ever, as powerful air strikes on Ukraine's energy infrastructure are being recorded every day. The minister noted that Ukrainians have reported that the upcoming winter will be the hardest winter of the war.
"We need to ensure a continuous flow of aid to Ukraine. And the Netherlands is providing more support than ever before. A few days ago, I announced support of 200 million euros. Today, I am announcing a new package of an additional 90 million euros for both reconnaissance and strike drones," Brekelmans said.
He added that Ukraine still has great industrial potential for the production of unmanned aerial vehicles, and therefore the Netherlands is making additional investments.
