The Netherlands is sending the ship Den Helder to the Caribbean Sea amid ongoing tensions in the region, according to country's Ministry of Defense, APA reports.
The department noted that given the current threats to the kingdom's territories in the Caribbean, the decision to send the ship is based on "precautionary measures." It will provide "logistical support" to Dutch forces if necessary.
According to the Ministry of Defense, the ship Den Helder had previously been in Caribbean waters, where it participated in hot-climate testing from mid-October, and later visited ports in Norfolk and New York.
