NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte, at a press conference stated that he expects the US to supply at least $17 billion worth of weapons to the Ukrainian Armed Forces, APA reports.
According to Rutte, a meeting of the NATO-Ukraine Council at the level of Foreign Ministers will be held in Brussels on December 3, and the event will be attended by the European Union's chief diplomat Kaja Kallas and Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sbiga.
The Secretary General stressed that NATO cannot ignore Russia's increasingly brutal attacks on Ukraine.
"Russia is systematically targeting civilian infrastructure, depriving Ukrainians of heat and light in early winter. Russia is not alone in this war, China remains its main supporter, Iran and North Korea also provide support. From the first days of Russia's full-scale occupation, NATO allies have demonstrated unwavering support for Ukraine," the Secretary General of the Alliance noted.
He added that the Alliance must increase support for Ukraine and it is time to let Europe take over.
