International NATO military exercises have begun in Lithuania a few kilometers from the Belarusian border today, said the press service of the Lithuanian Armed Forces, APA reports.
It is reported that about 3,000 Lithuanian and allied military personnel from Belgium, the Czech Republic, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Norway, Croatia and Germany will participate in the exercises. In addition, about 650 military equipment will be involved in the exercises - tanks, infantry fighting vehicles, self-propelled artillery installations and armored personnel carriers.
The information notes that during the exercises, military personnel will practice offensive and defensive operations, as well as use pyrotechnics and conduct training firing.
