German Chancellor Friedrich Merz announced that Germany has spent €40 billion on military support for Ukraine since February 2022, and another €36 billion on civilian aid, APA reports.
"We have provided Ukraine with military support totaling approximately €40 billion since February 2022. We have also provided €36 billion in civilian aid," he noted, speaking at the German-Ukrainian Economic Forum in Berlin. "And in 2026, we will allocate an additional €11 billion in military support," Merz stated. At the forum, he also announced the immediate allocation of €170 million to ensure Ukraine's energy supply.
