Hungarian Prime Minister Peter Magyar said that Budapest is not considering sending its troops to Ukraine.
He stated this in an interview on the YouTube channel Zeit im Bild on May 22.
"No, we do not plan to send Hungarian soldiers to Ukraine," the Hungarian prime minister said.
According to Magyar, it is premature to discuss such initiatives, since first it is necessary to wait for the conflict to end and the relevant agreements to be signed.
The Prime Minister noted that after reaching agreements, the states of the European Union (EU) will be able to assess possible formats for further participation and explore available options.
The Hungarian authorities have repeatedly stated the need for a diplomatic settlement of the conflict and opposed steps that, according to Budapest, could lead to further escalation of the situation.
