Lithuanian Foreign Minister Kestutis Budrys on Friday inaugurated the Lithuanian Central Project Management Agency’s (CPMA) office in Kyiv, saying the move would strengthen Lithuania’s contribution to Ukraine, APA reports, citing lrt.lt.

“We continue with reconstruction projects, with humanitarian assistance,” Budrys told a joint press conference with his Ukrainian counterpart, Andriy Sybiha.

“I am here to open the office of the Central Project Management Agency in Kyiv. This will now increase our presence and our efforts to attract not only development projects, but also programmes linked to the rebuilding of schools, shelters, and to strengthening the capacity of institutions that will help you join the EU more quickly,” he added.

Sybiha welcomed the move, saying the new office would coordinate all Lithuanian reconstruction projects in Ukraine.

The CPMA first announced its plans to open a Kyiv branch in December last year. At the time, the agency said the office would speed up implementation by allowing closer cooperation with Ukrainian institutions and quicker resolution of practical issues.
