The parliamentary faction of the left-wing "France Insubordinate" party will submit a draft resolution of no confidence in the French government to the National Assembly (lower house), it was announced to journalists by the faction's leader, Mathilde Panaud, whose speech was broadcast on the BFMTV television channel, APA reports.
"The only solution left to confront this government is a vote of no confidence in the government," Pano said after MPs rejected a left-wing proposal to include an additional tax on the wealthiest French citizens in the 2026 state budget bill, a proposal the cabinet opposed. Pano also called on President Emmanuel Macron to resign.
According to the leader of the "Insubordinate France" faction, the presidential ruling coalition is unwilling to cooperate with the left-wing opposition or accommodate it.
