The Middle Corridor initiative can play a very important role in developing economic partnerships and trade relations among various countries, said Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze in an interview with China Central Television (CCTV), APA’s local bureau reports.
He noted that China, the Central Asian countries, Azerbaijan, and Georgia are creating a very interesting and significant route for economic cooperation and trade partnership.
“That is why we remain committed to the idea of strengthening the Middle Corridor, the Trans-Caspian route. Georgia is a reliable partner for all the countries around it. We believe that Georgia can play a very positive role in strengthening cooperation in the future,” Kobakhidze added.
The Prime Minister noted that participation in the “Belt and Road” initiative is very promising for Georgia: “We want to fully restore our transit function, and for this purpose, we are making significant investments, particularly in the field of infrastructure.”
