If restrictions are to be placed on the Ukrainian army, then restrictions must also be placed on the Russian army, Kaja Kallas, European Union High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, told journalists, APA reports.
“We do not intend to interfere in the affairs of sovereign countries and decide on the scale of their armies. However, if restrictions are imposed on the Ukrainian army, which has not occupied any territory, pressure should also be applied to the Russian army. Because the Russian army is a threat. Not just to European countries, the Russian army is a danger to all neighboring countries. In the last 100 years, Russia has invaded 19 countries,” Kallas said.
Note that Kaja Kallas proposed the idea of imposing restrictions on the Russian army last week.
The peace agreement proposed by the United States envisages restrictions on the number of the Ukrainian army.
