The General Conference of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) has adopted a resolution calling on Russia to return the Zaporizhia Nuclear Power Plant to Ukrainian control, APA reports, citing the Ukrainian Ministry of Energy.
The document, titled "Nuclear Safety, Physical Nuclear Security and Safeguards in Ukraine," was supported by 62 member states. The resolution demands that Moscow immediately liberate and demilitarize the Zaporizhia NPP and return full control of the plant to Ukraine.
The resolution was adopted at the initiative of Ukraine and its international partners.
The document also contains a direct call for the immediate withdrawal of all unauthorized military and other personnel from the territory of the plant.
