Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán, who is on a visit to Türkiye, stated that Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has given assurances regarding the purchase of natural gas from Russia, APA’s Türkiye bureau reports.
Orbán said that Türkiye plays an important role in Hungary’s natural gas supplies from Russia.
“The Russians will supply us with natural gas, and Erdoğan has given assurances about this. I thank him for that,” he said.
The Prime Minister also emphasized that President Erdoğan played a special role in Hungary being invited to the Organization of Turkic States and in the development of relations between the two countries.
Orbán added that the trade turnover between the two countries has risen from the previous 2.5 billion dollars to 6 billion dollars, with the target being to reach 10 billion dollars.
