Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan discussed Türkiye's accession process to the European Union with Estonian Foreign Minister Margus Tsahkna, who is visiting Ankara, APA's Türkiye Bureau reports.
Hakan Fidan thanked Estonia for its assistance in Türkiye's EU accession process.
The minister stressed the need for the European Union to take a more decisive step:
"There is a point that we have often emphasized: The spirit of the times makes it necessary to approach Türkiye-European Union relations from the perspective of our long-term interests. Mr. President has clearly expressed our will on this issue. If the European Union side demonstrates the same determination, we believe that the blockages experienced in Türkiye's candidacy process can be overcome."
