The individual who opened fire on people with a firearm yesterday in the city of Kutaisi, Georgia, has been detained, APA’s local bureau reports, citing the Georgian Ministry of Internal Affairs.
The suspect, a 1978-born man with a prior conviction, was apprehended at the Georgia–Türkiye border crossing point “Sarpi.”
Investigation measures are ongoing. The crime committed is punishable by up to 20 years or life imprisonment.
It should be noted that three people were injured as a result of the incident. One of them died in the hospital.
