Germany will buy kamikaze drones worth about 900 million euros in order to protect NATO's eastern flank from the Russian threat, APA reports, citing Financial Times.
According to sources, the suppliers under the contract will be Germany's largest arms manufacturer Rheinmetall, as well as defense companies such as Helsing and Stark.
The 12,000 drones produced by these companies will be deployed on NATO's eastern borders.
The main purpose of the drones is to strengthen defense against possible Russian threats.
