German Chancellor Friedrich Merz stated that the German government intends to improve the protection of critical infrastructure, including power grids, from attacks.
"And above all, this means that we should no longer make information about this infrastructure so easily accessible to the public," Merz said after the first meeting of the coalition committee this year, according to the DPA news agency. This, the Chancellor explained, applies to geodata and other security-related information. "We must move away from this excessive transparency and toward greater resilience," he emphasized.
