The Constitutional Court of Georgia has accepted the claim of the country's parliament to ban three opposition parties, APA's local bureau reports.

The document was published on the court's website.

The lawsuit, authored by the ruling Georgian Dream, European Socialists, and Power of the People parties, bears the signatures of 88 MPs.

The Constitutional Court considered it justified and sent it to the plenum for consideration.

Hearings on the case will last up to 9 months.

Note that the lawsuit demands the liquidation of the United National Movement Party, the "For Changes" coalition, and the "Lelo - Strong Georgia" party founded by former President Mikheil Saakashvili, as they are contrary to the Constitution of Georgia.
