Allegations regarding the use of a banned chemical substance called kamit against protesters in Tbilisi are completely absurd and false, Georgia’s Interior Minister Geka Geladze told journalists, APA’s local bureau reports.
The minister said that the agency he leads has never procured the kamit substance.
"The Ministry of Internal Affairs has not used any substances that are dangerous to health during protests. All substances used to disperse various protest actions were legally purchased from various large companies," Geladze added.
Note that the BBC channel, in its report, claimed that toxic chemical substances were used in dispersing protests held in Tbilisi last year.
