Almost all major parts of the crashed Turkish aircraft have been found, said Georgian Defense Minister Irakli Chikovani, APA’s local bureau reports.
According to him, the search operations, which involved the personnel and equipment of the Defense Forces under the leadership of Georgia’s Ministry of Internal Affairs, have been carried out in close coordination with the Turkish side from the very first minutes.
“Thanks to coordinated efforts with the Turkish side, it has been possible to achieve significant results in the search operations. The investigation procedures are ongoing, and representatives of the Turkish Air Force are present at the crash site. The findings obtained during the course of the investigation will allow conclusions to be drawn,” Chikovani added.
Recall that on November 11, a Turkish C-130 military transport plane en route from Azerbaijan to Türkiye crashed in Georgian territory. All 20 soldiers on board lost their lives.
The remains of all 20 soldiers have been recovered. The bodies will be transported to Türkiye by an A-400M aircraft, which carried the search and rescue and crash response teams to Georgia.
