Some groups in Georgia are reportedly planning provocations on October 4, but anyone considering such actions is warned they will face a severe response, Mamuka Mdinaradze, head of Georgia’s State Security Service (SSG), said in an interview with Imedi TV, APA reports.
Mdinaradze noted that several groups are seriously discussing actions that could provoke public outrage.
“If they want to protest, they may do so, but they must stay within the law. Georgian elections will be conducted with dignity, and the authorities will handle any calls for unrest,” he added.
Municipal elections are scheduled to take place in Georgia on October 4, and opposition forces have planned a protest rally in Tbilisi on the same day.
