Starting from the next school year, a uniform will be mandatory for students in grades I-VI in all public schools in Georgia, said Georgian Minister of Education, Science and Youth Givi Mikanadze while presenting reforms in the field of general education, APA's local bureau reports.
He noted that socially vulnerable families will be provided with state support regarding uniforms.
Mikanadze also said that it is planned to introduce a ban on the use of mobile phones during school lessons.
"A corresponding regulation will be developed in this regard. Of course, the balance will be maintained to the maximum extent so as not to harm the educational process and not violate the child's right to communicate with his parents," the minister added.
