Georgia and Turkmenistan discussed cooperation on Middle Corridor

Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze met with Turkmenistan President Serdar Berdimuhamedov,  APA's local bureau reports.

The sides discussed political and economic relations between the two countries.

The meeting focused on the potential for cooperation in the field of transit and logistics and attracting additional cargo from Central Asia to Georgian seaports through the Middle Corridor.

Kobakhidze expressed readiness to provide assistance in transporting Turkmen gas via Georgia. He thanked the Turkmen head of state for his support for Georgia's territorial integrity and sovereignty, as well as for his policy of non-recognition of occupied territories.

The meeting expressed readiness to further deepen cooperation in bilateral and multilateral formats.

Kobakhidze invited Berdimuhamedov to pay an official visit to Georgia.
