Georgia and Kazakhstan discuss cooperation on development of the Middle Corridor

Chairman of the Mazhilis of the Parliament of Kazakhstan, Yerlan Koshanov, has paid his first official visit to Georgia, APA’s local bureau reports.

He met with Shalva Papuashvili, Speaker of the Parliament of Georgia.

During the meeting, the parties discussed cooperation between Georgia and Kazakhstan in various fields and explored opportunities to further strengthen interparliamentary relations.

It was noted that both Georgia and Kazakhstan are Silk Road countries, and today, cooperation between the two holds particular importance in terms of developing the Middle Corridor, which creates significant opportunities for global trade.

Yerlan Koshanov was also received by President of Georgia Mikheil Kavelashvili. The meeting focused on deepening bilateral cooperation in political, economic, and cultural spheres.

President Kavelashvili expressed Georgia’s readiness to contribute to better utilizing the potential of the South Caucasus and Central Asia regions and to fostering greater prosperity for the countries of these regions.
