"According to Georgian legislation, blocking a street during a rally is allowed only if the number of participants is too large to fit on the sidewalk," said Georgian parliament member Tengiz Sharmanashvili, APA's local bureau reports.

He said that although the law has been in force for a long time, it is not fully observed.

"We will not tolerate this any longer. We see that warnings about obeying the law are being ignored. We will certainly take appropriate legal steps," the MP added.

It should be noted that the previous day, Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze did not rule out restricting gatherings in the country in an interview with Rustavi 2 TV channel. According to him, 50-100 people blocking the street are committing violence against 4 million people who want peace and development in Georgia.

"This cannot continue, we will not allow this anymore," the Prime Minister said.
