Western countries, which announced the restoration of sanctions against Iran following the failure of talks between Tehran and the EU3 (Britain, Germany, and France), are ready to continue dialogue with the Iranian side, French Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot said on the LCI television channel, APA reports.
"The door to diplomacy remains open; we want to continue dialogue," he said. The decision to reinstate sanctions, he said, was made after Tehran "did not take up the offer" of Western countries and failed to provide the requested guarantees "that could have prompted a postponement of this decision to impose sanctions."
