Four foreign nationals who illegally crossed the state border were detained at the “Matsimi” border unit located in the Lagodekhi district of Georgia, APA’s local bureau reports, citing the Border Police of Georgia.
The investigation determined that these individuals illegally crossed the state border of Georgia from Azerbaijan in a group by bypassing the border crossing point.
Investigative measures regarding the incident are ongoing. The committed criminal act is punishable by up to 5 years of imprisonment.
The nationalities of the detained foreigners have not been disclosed.
