The European Council has extended individual sanctions against Russia until October 9, 2026, APA reports, citing mezha.net.
The EU Council’s press service said that 47 individuals and 15 legal entities are subject to the restrictions; their assets are frozen, and EU citizens and companies are prohibited from providing them with financial resources. Entry and transit through the EU for these individuals are also prohibited.
The Council explains that the decision is linked to continuing Russia’s hybrid activity: interference in the information space of the EU and partner countries, cyberattacks, and sabotage.
