Today, the European Commission will present its official proposal on the mechanism for using frozen Russian assets for the benefit of Ukraine, the press service of the European Commission informed "European Pravda", APA reports.
According to the information, after the meeting of the College of the European Commission, President Ursula von der Leyen and Vice-President Valdis Dombrovskis will hold a press conference on meeting Ukraine's financial needs in 2026-2027.
In a statement to journalists, the foreign ministers of several European countries expressed their eagerness to this proposal and did not rule out that it could be a "game-changing" initiative.
It is also reported that European countries are working on an alternative plan to provide Ukraine with financing in early 2026, even if they cannot agree on the use of Russian assets.
