The European Commission is preparing to present its 19th sanctions package against Russia on September 17, APA reports, citing Devdiscourse.
The new sanctions will target the “shadow” fleet, the banking system, and additional restrictions on oil sales.
Additionally, the Commission is considering blacklisting certain banks from two Central Asian countries and private oil refineries in China, further tightening Russia’s economic isolation.
It is worth noting that since 2022, the EU estimates that international sanctions have cost Russia around $450 billion.
