The European Union will allocate 1 million euros in assistance to the Compensation Commission for Ukraine, Kaja Kallas, High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Vice-President of the European Commission, announced this on her "X" account, APA reports.
"Russia will not escape the bill for the homes, schools, and hospitals it has destroyed. Today in The Hague, we take a major step toward accountability by establishing a commission to address claims for Russian war damages. Over 80,000 submissions have already been registered. The EU will support its work, including with an initial €1 million contribution," Kallas noted.
