European Union is gradually phasing out Russian energy carriers, as demanded by US President Donald Trump, said European Commission's chief spokeswoman Paula Pino, APA reports, citing The Guardian.
"The gradual phasing out of Russian energy carriers - we have been actively pursuing this for several years, since the beginning of the war, with a very clear roadmap. Now we even have a legislative proposal to stop gas supplies to the EU," she said.
Pino added that the EU is actively working to implement this plan and a clear mechanism has been established on how this will happen.
She also confirmed that the 19th package of sanctions against Russia is still in the preparation stage and has not been submitted to member states.
