We hope that the Georgian government will return to the European path, European Union (EU) High Commissioner for Enlargement Marta Kos told journalists in Brussels, APA's local bureau reports.
According to her, if Georgia wants to move forward on the European path, it must act differently.
"We will, of course, continue to support civil society and independent media. I very much hope that with the support of the people, the Georgian government will return to the European path. But of course, this is in their hands," Kos added.
Note that on November 28 last year, the Georgian government postponed EU membership negotiations until 2028, but stated that the European integration process has not been suspended. Last month, it became known that the European Union itself decided to suspend the dialogue with Georgia on June 27, 2024.
