Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has spoken about the obstacles Türkiye faces in its European Union membership process, APA’s Türkiye bureau reports.
He said that Türkiye has been waiting for the completion of this process for 50 years, but throughout this period it has continuously faced delays under various pretexts.
“We have left 50 years behind us. Unfortunately, they kept us busy with word games, and this delaying process still continues. We have the second-largest land army in NATO. Throughout this process, we were subjected to hidden and open restrictions, even embargoes. Despite this, we continued to develop our defense capabilities. The steps to be taken by Europe will determine the next stage,” Erdoğan emphasized.
